“When my husband and I decided we wanted to get pregnant, I went to my doctor who ran some tests and diagnosed me with PCOS. After six months of unsuccessful trying, my husband’s sperm was tested and was found to have poor morphology, at which point we were referred to a fertility specialist. What followed were two rounds of Clomid plus artificial insemination, which left me feeling moody and frustrated, and still not pregnant. At this point, I decided that I was done pumping my body full of hormones and subjecting myself to blood test after blood test.

A few weeks later, just two weeks before our appointment to start IVF, I took a pregnancy test (I had been experiencing some early symptoms) and it was positive. My husband and I were happily in disbelief. In just four months, and despite everything, Liz had helped us achieve what some of NYC’s most renowned fertility specialists could not. All told, my husband and I had been trying for almost two years, and those months with Liz were like a beacon of light amidst an otherwise dark and difficult time. I can honestly say that without her I would not be pregnant today. We are expecting a baby girl in June and Liz will be our doula for the birth; I cannot think of anyone who I trust to be in the delivery room with me more than her.
